Richmond, Va. February 28th,
2008
This will be the MOST
memorable concert of my life! I flew across the country (2836 miles) from my home, to meet up for the concert with my friend Gayle. I bought us front
row seats, a thank you for her hospitality. I flew in two days before
the show, to see a bit of her hometown, Williamsburg. The day before the
concert, I got a message from my husband, to call home. To our surprise,
Erv's office had called, looking for us, that they had 2 Meet & Greet
passes
for us!! OMG! We were absolutely floored! We screamed, I
dropped to the floor in disbelief and then kicked my feet up in the air with
glee! So after 24 hrs. of
butterflies in our tummies, we drove to Richmond and decided to stay overnight
next to the Coliseum. There we met up with Karen F. and her girlfriends for
a drink before the show. We got ready and walked over to the venue, picked up
our passes, and anxiously waited for Sarah Johns to quit singing...LOL.
Met Donna W. at the show too, she was 2 rows behind us. We went over to
where we were told to be, and the rest is history! We went in, and got in
the back of the line-up. We each got a few moments to talk with George,
have a photo taken, and get an autograph. He is such a kind, caring, gentle man!
He is even more handsome close-up! Mmmm ! I got to pose a little longer
with my arm around his waist as the flash on my camera did not go off the first
time. George says to the girl taking photos, "You better fix that". "Oh darn" I said out loud...and
squeezed him a little tighter...LOL... Gayle was fortunate to get some of her
prints signed, then she asked if the 3 of us could get a photo together, good
thinking girl!! Then just like that, it was over...we left the room and
just embraced each other...what a moment...one we will never forget...
...and I am so glad to have
shared it with my friend Gayle.
George changed into a beautiful
blue plaid shirt, came out and sang his heart out!!
